1. Who we are
Global Breakthrough 360 ("we", "us", "our") runs a leadership programme and community for Global Majority professionals working across the content industry.
Global Breakthrough 360 is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
We are the data controller for the personal information described here. That means we decide what information is collected and how it is used.

2. What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal information at the nomination stage of Global Breakthrough 360, and what happens to that information afterwards if you go on to apply or join the programme.
It applies to two groups of people:
Nominators — people who complete our nomination form, either to nominate someone else or to put themselves forward.
Nominees — people who have been nominated by someone else.
3. If you have been nominated by someone else
You are receiving this notice because someone submitted your name to us. We want to be clear about how that happened.
Where your information came from: your nominator gave it to us directly through our online nomination form. We did not obtain it from any public source or buy it from anyone.
What we hold about you: your name, your email address, and the information your nominator provided about your role, organisation and achievements.
Why we hold it: so that we can tell you that you have been nominated, and invite you to apply to the programme.
Our lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our legitimate interest is identifying and inviting outstanding candidates to a programme designed to benefit them. We have considered your interests and concluded that being told about a nomination, with a clear and easy way to opt out, is something a nominee would reasonably expect and is unlikely to cause harm.
You can stop this at any time. Reply to any email from us, or contact info@globalbreakthrough360.com, and we will remove your details. You do not need to give a reason. See section 10 for your full rights, including the right to object.
4. If you submitted a nomination
What we collect from you: your name, email address, organisation, job title, country, your relationship to the person you are nominating, and your written reasons for nominating them. If you are nominating yourself, we also collect the eligibility information described in section 5.
Why we use it: to process the nomination, to contact you about it, to contact the person you nominated, and — if you have separately opted in — to tell you about future programmes, events and opportunities.
Our lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you ticked the consent boxes on the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting info@globalbreakthrough360.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
Do you have to provide it? No — completing the form is entirely voluntary. But we cannot process a nomination without it.
5. Information about ethnicity and background
Global Breakthrough 360 is open to Global Majority professionals. To assess eligibility we ask questions that reveal racial or ethnic origin, which is "special category" information under UK GDPR Article 9 and receives extra protection.
Our condition for using it: your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a)). We ask for this separately and clearly on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
The programme is a positive action measure within the meaning of sections 158 and 159 of the Equality Act 2010, designed to address under-representation of Global Majority professionals in leadership across the content industry.
At later stages we may also ask about disability or socio-economic background for equality monitoring. Answering is always optional, and those answers are never used to decide whether you progress.
6. Who else handles your information
We use a small number of trusted suppliers to run the programme. They act on our instructions only and cannot use your information for their own purposes.
Fillout — hosts our nomination and application forms. United States.
Airtable — stores nomination and application records. United States.
Make.com (Celonis) — sends automated emails triggered by form submissions. European Union.
Google (Workspace) — our email system. United States.
Squarespace — hosts this website. United States.
Mailchimp (Intuit) — sends programme updates and mailings. United States.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we are legally required to.
7. Information sent outside the UK
Some of our suppliers are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. When your information is transferred there, we rely on one of the safeguards approved under UK law:
the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US data bridge), where the supplier is actively enrolled in it; or
the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Automated decisions
We use software to help sort and check submissions, including originality checking on written application answers.
No decision that significantly affects you is ever made by software alone. Every eligibility decision, shortlisting decision and selection decision is reviewed and made by a person.
9. How long we keep your information
Nominations that do not lead to an application: 12 months from the close of the nomination window.
Applications that are unsuccessful: 12 months from the date of the decision.
Participants on the programme: for the duration of the programme and 6 years afterwards, so we can maintain the alumni community and meet our funding and financial record-keeping obligations.
Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.
At the end of these periods we securely delete the information, or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
be told how your information is used (this notice)
get a copy of the information we hold about you
have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete
have it deleted in certain circumstances
restrict how we use it
object to us using it, including where we rely on legitimate interests
portability — receive your information in a reusable format
withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
opt out of marketing at any time

11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@globalbreakthrough360.com so we can put it right.

12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell people who are actively involved with the programme.
